What are course reserves?
Reserves are course-related materials made available, either electronically or physically, through the UC San Diego Library. Items that may be on reserve for a class include journal articles, physical media, book chapters, course readers, etc.
How do I find course reserves?
Log on to the course reserve system and select the class you want to view. Depending on the subject, course reserve materials can be located at the Geisel Service Hub.
What is my AD login?
Your AD login is what you use to access your UCSD email, the protected Wi-Fi or VPN, and ACMS computers. The username is usually the first part of your email address before the @ucsd.edu. If you need to reset your password, please visit https://password.ucsd.edu/
What are electronic reserves?
Electronic reserves are materials made available online, including e-books, book excerpts, journal articles, and non-copyrighted material such as syllabi and lecture notes.
How do I access electronic reserves from off campus?
Find instructions for connecting to the campus network on the Connecting From Off-Campus page. VPN Any Connect (client) is the preferred way. Be sure to select 2-Step Secured-Allthruucsd from the group drop-down while authenticating. Once you are connected, log into the course reserves system. If you need further assistance, contact the ETS Help Desk.
How do I access Course Reserves in the Library?
Course Reserves are available for students to access in the Service Hub of the Geisel Library building. To ensure that all students have access to the materials they need for their classes and eliminate late fees, Course Reserves are limited to in-person use in the Library.
Students can search for items on reserve for their classes using the course reserves system. Items available in the Service Hub of the Geisel Library building and on Electronic Reserves will be listed on course reserves system.
For students that need to access titles related to their classes for a longer period of time, students can search UC Library Search for additional items available in the general UC San Diego Library collection or from other UC campuses.
Accessing your course items via Canvas?
Some course items may require that you open in a new tab. Please reach out to reserves@ucsd.edu if you require further troubleshooting.
