Peter Yates (1909-1976) was an important radio personality and concert presenter in the Los Angeles avant-garde music scene from 1939 through the mid-1960s. As a music critic, author, teacher, and poet, his work consists of audio recordings that partly document these activities, including concerts, interviews with composers, lectures by Yates and composers, and radio broadcasts.
